Trophy red stag hunts on open terrain can be reserved at both Blue Waters South and Blue Waters North. These hunts typically span five to seven days and occur on private estancias or remote wilderness camps. A complete five days (two hunting sessions daily) usually proves necessary to locate, stalk and pursue the largest trophies-these should be considered dedicated hunting expeditions.
Dedicated trophy hunts at Blue Waters South occur on an exclusive mountain estancia near Esquel city and adjacent to Los Alerces National Park. No more than eight hunts annually are offered to ensure quality trophy management and guarantee all hunters opportunity to pursue world-class trophies. The program remains very comfortable, based from the owner’s cabin and completely managed by Blue Waters.
Hunters access over 50,000 acres of ideal red stag habitat including five creek drainages forming the Rio Percy. The territory holds some of Argentina’s finest trophy red stag. Programs may be reserved for 5 nights/5 days hunting, 6 nights/6 days hunting or 7 nights/7 days hunting. Day excursions can be arranged for hunters wanting to pursue red stag without dedicating full weeks to the program. From Blue Waters Lodge at Trevelin, guests access and hunt Estancia Escondida, a 10,000-acre private property offering abundant red stag and ideal terrain just 20 minutes from the lodge. Guests can be hunting within 30 minutes and typically harvest trophy red stag in just a couple days, allowing them to complete their trip enjoying fly fishing and quail hunting. Guests experience private rooms at Blue Waters Lodge at Trevelin, which features every imaginable amenity including signature indoor parrilla, 220-bottle whiskey collection, world-class spa and winery. Five-night trophy hunts can be arranged on the 10,000-acre Estancia Escondida in the Esquel territory at reasonable rates. The Escondida ranks among Argentina’s finest red stag properties, featuring high Andes, river valley and steppe terrain. Conveniently positioned twenty minutes from Esquel airport, the lodge offers private rooms with individual bathrooms. Prime roaring grounds sit near the lodge, minimizing driving time.
Although high-fenced, the property is massive and completely wild—impossible to hunt entirely in one week. Hunters experience exceptional roaring action with multiple stalks per session. Hunts at Blue Waters North are arranged at several regional estancias. Blue Waters North doesn’t directly handle hunts but provides logistical support. Blue Waters North also manages all fly fishing trips before or after hunting. Estancias and their hunting programs all differ and hunts can be reserved in the steppe or in the mountains. Space remains always limited but Blue Waters maintains inside access to all available hunts in the territory.
